Sketch #96 & 98 and a prayer request

How was everyone's holidays? I am having to re-write my whole post because my other computer became effected with a virus. Woohoo, it's not even letting me run my virus protection and the virus is claiming it is a virus protector. Gotta love it.

I wasn't sure If I wanted to share this story of my brother but I believe in the power of prayer, so I'm sharing because I know how loving all my scrapbook friends are. Maybe I will be sharing a story that might encourage someone else to believe in the power of Christ.

Two weeks ago my 18yr old brother BJ suffered a brain injury with loss of oxygen to his brain. They were able to resuscitate him but he is in a coma. The doctors told my mother that if he survived he would live as a vegetable. I know I was devastated, I cant even imagine the feelings of being the mother and having to make the choice when to discontinue treatment. After being at the hospital for a week I came home. I seemed to have lost  hope, being there listening to doctors was very depressing. On my way home a friend called me and told me a story I needed to hear. I then started researching. I came across so many stories of miracles! One thing stuck with me. Doctors are only man, they are not God, they do not have all the answers. After praying some more, I had a peace that came over me that night. I was not going to give up hope again until he took his last breath. But I really believed God would give us a miracle. The next day things got worse, they told my Mom she needed to decide soon because they were going to have to do surgery to insert a trach if she wanted to continue life support.
Later that night our miracle came! Bj started responding on command by moving his feet! He is there listening! How scary that must be! It also made me sad, because I cant say that we all talked as if we had great hope. Shame on us. He is still deep in a coma, he has had to undergo a surgery already, but is doing good. The doctors think his prognosis is good but will surely have some disability's. I choose to believe God will heal him. There has been so many prayers sent up and so many answered already. I would be forever grateful if you would  keep my brother Bj in your prayers. He will need them for a long time. Wednesday is his birthday, he will be 19. Thanks friends!

Now back to scrapbooking. Here is a layout I did for The Scrappiest sketch #96. Yeah I'm still far behind, doing school layouts!

Another sketch #98. These are pictures of my friends girls. Aren't they just beautiful. It was nice to do a girl layout. I loved this Crate Paper Collection.

Thanks for stopping by and as always sorry I haven't been by your blogs lately....Im just a bad blogger all around!

Star, you know our story of my son last year.
after having two brain bleeds last year the doctors were not very positive that he would regain his sight...and they said that his condition is inoperable and that although it cannot kill him, he could become blind permanently.

In November he went to have his drivers license renewed and he passed the eye test with flying colors. We serve a miracle working God. Don't ever give up! Sometimes, and even in my son's case things got a lot worse before it got better. But still hang in and believe. We stand with you in prayer.

Lovely layouts my friend.

It's amazing how when we start to look at things THROUGH God instead of around Him, that miracles start happening and when we live in Faith, He performs those miracles for us. It is clear the God heard the prayers for BJ and started him on his recovery. I pray that He continues to give BJ strength and that someday soon God will see fit to bring him back to you completely. I also pray that God continues to wrap your and your family in His grace and mercy and gives you strength through this hard time.

Hi, I love your work. Sorry to hear about your brother. My brother had something similar about that age too. His brain was without oxygen for about 5 minutes . He was on ICU for two days on a New Year's Eve. At first we thought he would live like a vegetable too, but God is Great and nowadays he's 31 years old and the only scar he has is that his hands and legs are always shaking a little, and his lungs functioned at 70%, but other than that, he's in great condition. Have Faith and you'll see how Great God is. Hang in there!!! I'll be praying for him.
