Sketch #106...and a winner!

Hey Ladies, how are you? I'm so jealous of all you that are in nice warm weather. I'm ready for winter to be over, especially after being snowed in for 3 days last week. You would think I would've been happy to scrapbook but I never even did one page! Depressing isn't it! I want to thank all my friends who still stop by this boring blog to catch a glimpse of my life every once in a while. My time as part of the DT at The Scrappiest is coming to a end soon. I will let you know when she posts that she is looking for her new DT. Liz and her sketches have been so fun to work with.

I think I need a break from a DT and stuff for awhile. My hope is I will get back into why I started scrapbooking in the 1st place. I need to go to a crop, that always seems to get my creative side goin again! What do you guys do when you are in a creative slump?

Anyways enough already.....I used randomgenerator.org to come up with #11! The winner is VICKI who said "Wonderful layout. Love your take on the sketch. Thanks for sharing.". Vicki please email me your address, I will get a box full of goodies out to you. It will be a surprise!

And for any of those that have prayed for my brother I really appreciate it! He has been moved to a better hospital where they fully believe he will come out of his coma. They said to be patient, it will take at-least 5mo. for him to even start coming out. I went and visited him and he did look at me! It was pretty amazing. He is having times of awareness and responding but they are short moments that come and go. It will be a long road and we will need continued prayers for him. So thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers and encouraging stories. You are the best....next to the almighty and powerful God of-course!

Here is my layout I did for sketch #106 at The Scrappiest. Its me and the hubby on vacation this summer. One of the boys took the pic, not bad huh! I loved this kit from Transparent Touches & Tags! I altered the photo to subdue the colors to match better with the papers. Thanks for stopping by friends!

Sketch #96 & 98 and a prayer request

How was everyone's holidays? I am having to re-write my whole post because my other computer became effected with a virus. Woohoo, it's not even letting me run my virus protection and the virus is claiming it is a virus protector. Gotta love it.

I wasn't sure If I wanted to share this story of my brother but I believe in the power of prayer, so I'm sharing because I know how loving all my scrapbook friends are. Maybe I will be sharing a story that might encourage someone else to believe in the power of Christ.

Two weeks ago my 18yr old brother BJ suffered a brain injury with loss of oxygen to his brain. They were able to resuscitate him but he is in a coma. The doctors told my mother that if he survived he would live as a vegetable. I know I was devastated, I cant even imagine the feelings of being the mother and having to make the choice when to discontinue treatment. After being at the hospital for a week I came home. I seemed to have lost  hope, being there listening to doctors was very depressing. On my way home a friend called me and told me a story I needed to hear. I then started researching. I came across so many stories of miracles! One thing stuck with me. Doctors are only man, they are not God, they do not have all the answers. After praying some more, I had a peace that came over me that night. I was not going to give up hope again until he took his last breath. But I really believed God would give us a miracle. The next day things got worse, they told my Mom she needed to decide soon because they were going to have to do surgery to insert a trach if she wanted to continue life support.
Later that night our miracle came! Bj started responding on command by moving his feet! He is there listening! How scary that must be! It also made me sad, because I cant say that we all talked as if we had great hope. Shame on us. He is still deep in a coma, he has had to undergo a surgery already, but is doing good. The doctors think his prognosis is good but will surely have some disability's. I choose to believe God will heal him. There has been so many prayers sent up and so many answered already. I would be forever grateful if you would  keep my brother Bj in your prayers. He will need them for a long time. Wednesday is his birthday, he will be 19. Thanks friends!

Now back to scrapbooking. Here is a layout I did for The Scrappiest sketch #96. Yeah I'm still far behind, doing school layouts!

Another sketch #98. These are pictures of my friends girls. Aren't they just beautiful. It was nice to do a girl layout. I loved this Crate Paper Collection.

Thanks for stopping by and as always sorry I haven't been by your blogs lately....Im just a bad blogger all around!

Sketch #89

Hey everyone! How's it going? Are you starting to make New Years resolutions already after munching on all the Halloween candy. Im trying to be good but its not working very well! Just wanted to show you this simple & quick layout I did for the latest sketch at The Scrappiest. I dont think circles will ever go out of style! When I use circles, they always seem to end up being my favorite pages. I got stuck on what else to add....maybe I will add more later, but I kinda really love the simplicity of it too.

Come join us at The Scrappiest. You will be entered for a chance to win this great prize pack from Stash to Treasure. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week!

Hello Life!

Hey Everyone! I'm still alive...barely. Ive been sick for the last couple days, I just love winter colds....before winter! At least the kids haven't been sick...yet. Here is a couple layouts I have managed to sneak in for my Design Team work at The Scrappiest! Both of them are done with kits from Transparent Touches & Tags! I just love fall! These are both about my little man Trent...I still call him my baby but he doesn't like that. I captured this adorable moment with him & his cousin. This picture became a instant all-time favorite! (sorry about the bad scan)

I hid the journaling behind the picture on this one. He wanted this shirt when we went school shopping, and I instantly said No. I don't know why, I guess it was so loud & colorful (the pictures are very muted)...even so my friend had to tease & called him rainbow bright. But seeing his face I knew he LOVED this shirt, and I thought....well it is actually very cute, and I knew he would be adorable in it. So we got it, he wanted so badly to wear it the 1st day of school, but it wasn't cool enough yet. So the 1st crisp fall day came & he had it on. I had to laugh when I seen this shirt in the Kohls add after we bought it. I guess my boys got more style than me! (which isn't that hard to do! lol)

Thanks for stopping by! I hope I can find some time to stop by everyone's blogs soon. But for now I have to go make dinner!

My Charmer

Here's another layout of my oldest Mason. He usually gives me the cheesiest grins but I have learned the trick with him is to just get him to laugh about something, usually teasing him about his cheesy grin works. Then I get these adorable shots of him. I bought a fixed 50mm lens for my photography class & I LOVE it! I wish I had this lens 4 years ago when I first bought my Canon Rebel, I also wish I would've taken a class a long time ago too! Its so worth it to actually have the knowledge to take the pictures you want to take in your head......but I need to get on that picture taking part. I am behind in class...whoops. So much to do lately!

I used the latest sketch from Liz at The Scrappiest & I loved this kit from Transparent Touches! Sorry bout the bad scan!
